  • What happens if my request for records is denied?
    If the Sheirff's Office denies all or part of your request, we will provide you with a written explanation that includes the reason for the denial, the legal authority justifying the denial, and your appeal rights.
     
    You may have a right to an "administrative review" of the decision by the Sheriff's Office. Otherwise, you will need to go to court if you wish to challenge the agency’s decision. (Even if
    administrative remedies are available, you have the right to go to court without first pursuing any administrative review.)
