On 2/11/13, Girl Scout Troop 1245 out of Preston was given a tour of the Caroline County Sheriff's Office and the Emergency Management 911 Center. The tour was given by Sergeant Philip Dixon and Deputy First Class Scott Koenig of the Caroline County Sheriff's Office, Patrol Division.
The girls were able to learn what a deputy sheriff does while duty, view how fingerprints are taken now digitally, wear some the gear of a deputy sheriff and sit in an actual police car from the perspective of a deputy. In addition, Shift Commander Steve Sharf, from the Caroline County Department of Emergency Management gave a tour of the county's 911 dispatch center and how they take a call when they dial 911.
We would like to thank Girl Scout Troop 1245 for wanting to learn more about their county law enforcement and public safety professionals and also a thank you to Sergeant Philip Dixon, Deputy First Class Scott Koenig, and Shift Commander Steve Sharf for doing such a great job with the kids...We are lucky to have such great employees in the county government.
