IMG 4335The age old question posed often to children is – "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Getting to explore lots of interesting options is what Career Day at School is about. Thanks to the adult presenters, the students at Federalsburg Elementary School learned some surprising things about some professions, and were introduced to the Caroline County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit.

On May 3rd, 2013, the Caroline County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit - Corporal Erik Peterson and K-9 "Rebel" gave a demonstration of their duties. This gave the students a real life opportunity to hear and see what it takes to be a K-9 team.

Students learned some surprising things, as well as something about the skills needed to be a K-9 Deputy. After hearing the presentation by Corporal Peterson, with the assistance of Officer Stivers of the Federalsburg Police Department (acting as the decoy in the demonstration) they put on a simulated "take down" by K-9 Rebel.

It was a great day for the kids and the Caroline County Sheriff's Office looks forward to coming back for years to come....Thank you Federalsburg Elementary School!
