On May 4th, the Caroline County Sheriff's Office participated in the 3rd Annual Eastern Shore Police Associations Fallen Officer Memorial Ride and Ceremony.
The purpose of this annual ride is to honor the memories of Police Officers that died in the line of duty while working on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
This year the ride drove by two (2) locations where two of our Eastern Shore officers died on duty. This is a very important ride that Camp ESPA (Eastern Shore Police Association) puts on once a year to support the law enforcement Memorial that honors our fallen heroes who died in the line of duty while working the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Deputy First Class (DFC) Thomas Walsh of the Caroline County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division volunteered to take part in the ride to represent the Caroline County Sheriff's Office. DFC Walsh carried the flag of our Deputy, identified as Deputy Charles H. Lankford, who died in the line of duty 7/29/77.
Also in attendance was Caroline County Sheriff Randy Bounds who took the attached pictures to share. Sheriff Bounds met with allied law enforcement agencies who participated in this event.
Thank you DFC Thomas Walsh for representing the Sheriff's Office and the citizens of Caroline County in this very important ride and honoring our own fallen Deputy Sheriff Deputy Charles Lankford... Pictures of the ride are below.
