2013 Maryland MADD Awards

2013 MADD Award Caroline Sheriff's OfficeOn Dec. 6, the M.A.D.D. Maryland Chapter honored Eastern Shore law enforcement by hosting a breakfast and awarding certificates of appreciation for enforcement efforts of Impaired Driving.

Sergeant Philip Dixon, Caroline County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division received the award this year for his dedication to enforceing DWI laws in Caroline County. In addition, Sergeant Dixon is the coordinator at the Sheriff's Office for the newly implimented Intoximeter system that was provided to the Sheriff's Office by the Maryland State Police.


Sergeant Dixon was one of 38 police officers from around the Eastern Shore to receive such award. The award ceromoney was held at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center, Salisbury, Maryland and consisted of speakers from MADD and victims of drunk drivers.

MADD's mission is to eliminate drunk driving from our roadways and encourages you to be responsible and don't drink and drive. Please report drunk drivers and be responsible by not driving after consuming any amount of alcohol. Please enjoy the holidays and be safe on the roadways.
