Sgt. Phil Dixon Sheriff's Office Intoximeter SupervisorA new Intoximeter instrument was installed at the Caroline County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) on October 28th. This came after a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Maryland State Police and the Sheriff's Office in which the Sheriff's Office becomes a part of the State of Maryland Alcohol Testing Program. As such, the CCSO will conduct breath tests of drivers suspected of operating motor vehicles while impaired by alcohol.

Sheriff's Office attends Ground Breaking for Future Improvements to Caroline Veterans Monument

Caroline Sheriff and Caroline Veterans Ground Breaking CeromonyOn June 6th, 2013, the Caroline Veterans Memorial Steering Committee and supporters gathered around the Memorial Monument dedicated to Caroline County Military Veterans.

This day (June 6th) was the anniversary of the Allied invasion of northern France, code named D-Day, General Fretterd, the Caroline County Commissioners, and distinguished Veterans gathered to "break ground" for the new improvements to the local Memorial. Sheriff Randy Bounds and Captain James Henning attended the memorial ceremony to show their support for this very noble project undertaken by the committee.

National Sheriff's Association recognizes National Missing Children's Day

Deputies participate in 2013 Law Enforcement Torch Run

Special Olympics Caroline County Sheriff's OfficeCaroline County Sheriff Randy Bounds and other deputies with the Caroline County Sheriff's Office walked or participated with local citizens and allied law enforcement agencies to benefit those children associated with the Special Olympics.

Easton Police Department relayed the torch through Talbot County to members of Queen Anne's County, for its final destination at Towson University to kick of the annual Maryland Special Olympics festivities. The Town of Easton hosted over 60 athletes as well as local law enforcement to participate in various run, walk, and bike routes through the Town of Easton.

Caroline County Sheriff's Office at Washington DC Candlelight Vigil Honoring Fallen Officers

Police Week 2013On May 13, 2013, Deputy First Class Scott Koenig of the Caroline County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division represented the Sheriff's Office and our county citizens this night by attending the Candlelight Vigil Honoring our nations police heros who gave their life protecting others.

 

An estimated 20,000 people gathered at the National Police Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. Monday night for the 25th Annual Candlelight Vigil.

 

"At this monument 22 years ago, there were just over 12,500 names on these walls. As a special tribute to those men and women, we read each of their names in a final roll call of honor that lasted 24 hours." Craig Floyd, Chairman and CEO of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, said during the ceremony. "Every year since, we've given that same honor to every name that has been added to this national treasure."
