On 4/17/13, the Caroline County Sheriff's Office welcomed anew member to the agency. Deputy First Class (DFC), Jeremy Gardner, was hired to replace Sgt. Frank Meyers who recently retired after 30 years of dedicated service with the Caroline County Sheriff's Office.
DFC Gardner comes to the Sheriff's Office from another law enforcement agency and with many years of dedicated service in the law enforcement profession. DFC Gardner possesses experience in Court Security,School Resource Officer, and a certified police instructor specializing in " Defensive Tactics". Dfc. Gardner was a Criminal Investigation Detective at his previous agency just prior to coming to the Sheriff's Office. In addition, Dfc.Gardner holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice along as many other specialized certifications.
Dfc. Gardner is a resident of Caroline County, and when not working at the Sheriff's Office he teaches Mixed Martial Arts.

On 2/11/13, Girl Scout Troop 1245 out of Preston was given a tour of the Caroline County Sheriff's Office and the Emergency Management 911 Center. The tour was given by Sergeant Philip Dixon and Deputy First Class Scott Koenig of the Caroline County Sheriff's Office, Patrol Division.

On 2/15/13, eight of Caroline County Sheriff's Offices Corporals graduated from the Wor-Wic Criminal Justice Academy's "Police First Line Supervisor School". This was an intense 2 week leadership and management course designed specifically for law enforcement officers.

Corporal Bryan Peris of the Caroline County Sheriff's Office Patrol Divison recently graduated the Univeristy of Maryland DUI Institute. The DUI Institute features a challenging University curriculum while emphasizing effective measures and techniques to identify and apprehend drivers under the influence. Including members of the University of Maryland faculty, highway safety experts and researchers, treatment and court experts, DUI prosecutors, and drug recognition experts, the DUI Institute touts a very diverse and knowledgeable faculty.
